Vetta Privacy Policy

We collect information directly from you when you register an account, upload career materials, submit employer problem statements, or interact with our platform.

The Service uses a staged, progressive disclosure framework designed to ensure objective candidate matching and protect candidate identity.

• Stage 1 (Algorithmic Proximity Match): When your profile matches an Employer role based on vector embedding proximity, the Employer can view only a Blinded Profile. This includes summarized experience, skills, and tools, but omits your name, contact details, and past employer identities.
• Stage 2 (Resume Unlock): When an Employer applies an Unlock credit, the Employer gains access to your complete resume content, with all Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and direct contact details stripped and redacted.
• Stage 3 (Interview Selection): Your full legal name, contact information, and shared calendar availability are disclosed to an Employer only after that Employer has matched with you, applied an Unlock, and formally selected you for an interview.
• Controlled Communications: In-platform messaging is unlocked only after an interview selection is made and initiated by the Employer. Messages are restricted to the candidate, the designated employer user, and authorized employer administrators.
• Employer Privacy: Employer problem statements remain confidential and are not publicly searchable. Employer direct email addresses are not displayed to candidates on the platform.

Vetta uses enterprise machine learning architectures and Large Language Model (LLM) sub-processors to parse roles and generate matching models.

• No Candidate PII Transmitted to LLMs: Candidate resumes and career histories are stripped of PII before text is transmitted to enterprise LLMs to generate mathematical vector embeddings.
• Job Post Analysis: Employer problem statements and role requirements are analyzed by LLMs to determine core objectives, success metrics, and semantic vector embeddings.
• Enterprise API Protections: All AI processing is conducted via private, commercial enterprise APIs under strict confidentiality terms. Your data is not stored, retained, or used by third-party AI providers to train public foundational models.

• Zero Data Sales: Vetta does not sell, rent, license, trade, or transfer personal data, resumes, or user contact information to any third party, data broker, or marketing company for monetary or other commercial value.
• No Cross-Context Behavioral Advertising: Vetta does not share personal data with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising, retargeting, or third-party marketing campaigns.
• No Data Scraping: Vetta strictly prohibits third-party scraping, harvesting, crawling, or automated data extraction across all candidate profiles, resumes, and job postings.

Vetta extracts and aggregates de-identified, non-personal metadata from the platform, including:

• Standardized job titles and role taxonomies
• Technical skills, software tools, and competencies
• Salary benchmarks and compensation ranges

This aggregated data contains zero personal identifiers, cannot be linked back to individual users or organizations, and is used internally to maintain salary benchmark intelligence and refine platform matching accuracy.

We disclose personal data strictly in the following limited circumstances:

• Between Platform Users: In accordance with the Progressive Disclosure framework outlined in Section 2.
• Service Providers and Sub-Processors: Trusted third-party vendors who provide infrastructure, cloud hosting, database management, LLM vector processing, and payment services. These vendors operate under contractual obligations to process data solely on our behalf and maintain strict confidentiality.
• Identity Verification (Stripe Identity): If you participate in optional candidate identity verification, your government-issued ID and selfie are processed directly by Stripe, Inc. using biometric verification technology to verify authenticity and prevent fraud. Vetta receives only verification status metadata (such as verified status, date, and check outcomes) to display the "Verified Candidate" trust badge. Stripe processes this data in accordance with the Stripe Privacy Policy.
• Legal and Safety Compliance: We may disclose data if required by law, regulation, legal process, or valid governmental request, or to investigate platform abuse, protect user safety, or enforce our Terms of Service.
• Business Transfers: If Vetta undergoes a merger, acquisition, corporate reorganization, or sale of assets, user data may be transferred as part of the transaction, subject to the protections of this Privacy Policy.

• Employee Access Restrictions: Vetta personnel do not view candidate resumes, candidate PII, or employer job postings during normal operations.
• Technical Support Carve-Out: Vetta staff may access user records only when an authorized user grants explicit permission to debug a technical issue.
• Mandatory Legal and Safety Access: Vetta personnel may access records when strictly required to enforce platform safety, investigate fraudulent activity, or comply with mandatory legal obligations.
• Technical Safeguards: We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect information from unauthorized access, loss, alteration, or misuse, including encryption in transit and at rest.

• Active Account Retention: We retain your account data and operational history for as long as your account remains active to provide the Service, maintain matching indexes, and support platform features.
• Candidate Pool Inactivity: If a candidate does not opt into a weekly candidate pool, that candidate's profile is excluded from matching evaluations for that cycle.
• PII and Resume Deletion Upon Request: You may request the deletion of your account and personal data at any time. Upon receipt of a verified deletion request, Vetta permanently deletes or scrubs all Personally Identifiable Information (PII), uploaded resume files, portfolio links, and direct contact details from our active matching index.
• Relational Database Integrity and Retained System Records: To maintain database integrity, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, track historical billing transactions, and satisfy statutory auditing obligations, Vetta indefinitely retains de-identified event logs, transaction identifiers, and anonymized operational metadata. These retained system records contain no personal identifiers, are permanently disassociated from your identity, and cannot be used to re-identify you.

Vetta reserves the right to update or modify this Privacy Policy at any time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice through platform notifications or via email prior to the changes taking effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
